The great outdoors
We encourage the children to head into the fresh air as often as we can; not just for exercise, but as an aid to communication and language, and personal, social and emotional development.
We have a great range of sports equipments and swings, slides and outdoor castle that help physical dexterity and development. We also have lots of fun with bubbles, welly splashing, mud-pie making, water and sand play.
The Mud-kitchen is always a source for some fabulous imaginary role play which develops communication and language, along with personal, social and emotional skills.
Building and exploring our own ‘bug hotel’, creating a ‘Willow den’ and large building with crates allows for construction and cognitive development, along with some wonderful creative ideas and sustained shared thinking.
The children learn to start understanding and appreciating the world we live in through planting and growing flowers, fruit and vegetables, and discovering the changing seasons and wonders of nature in our ‘adventure woodland walks’.
